Corneal Molding: Correcting Your Vision Overnight

What is Accelerated Orthokeratology or Corneal Molding?

It is a contact lens program designed to reduce or eliminate myopia (near-sightedness) and astigmatism (irregular eye surface).
This procedure utilizes a special contact lens (corneal mold) to gently and safely change the surface of the eye in order to naturally improve vision.

How long does Accelerated Orthokeratology take?

It depends on the severity of the problem.
Some people are able to see 20/20 after wearing the corneal molds overnight.
For most people the best vision will occur after 2-6 weeks.

What are the benefits of Accelerated Orthokeratology?

Better vision without help from glasses or contact lenses within days to weeks;
Free of risks associated with laser surgery (see next section);
Occupational vision demands may be met for careers such as pilots, policemen, firemen or any job that requires better visual acuity;
Helps prevent progression of near-sightedness in children (see “What about using Ortho-K in children?”).

How does Ortho-k compare with Laser vision surgery?

Ortho-K is not a surgical procedure. Since there is no cutting or burning of tissue, there is no possibility of scarring to the cornea (outer surface of the eye). Scar tissue with resulting decreased night vision is a possible side effect of laser surgery;
Ortho-K is reversible which means a maintenance regimen is needed to maintain the new shape of the cornea;
Ortho-K costs less than laser surgery by about half;
There is no post-operative discomfort as can be the case with surgery.

Tips -Lowering High Blood Pressure Naturally is Essential

By lowering your blood pressure naturally, you can improve many other aspects of your health.

Prescription medications are good at times, but for health issues such as hypertension and high cholesterol, sometimes natural remedies work best.
Why? Because they treat the underlying cause of your condition, and prescription drugs don't.

Most drugs the doctor prescribes aere synthetic, and can harm liver and other organs. They also cause many unpleasant side effects in many people. That is why learning how to lower your blood pressure using natural methods is best!

A few tips:

1. Drink lots of water!
Drinking half of your body weight in ounces every day helps flush toxins from your body and reduce blood pressure. Example: If you weight 140 pounds, drink 70 ounces of water. This is equivalent to 8 1/2 cups.

2. Eat healthy foods.
You already know you should do this, but adding certain foods to your diet such as bananas and other foods loaded with potassium is essential. Cut out the salt with salt substitutes , potassium iodide actually aids to reduce BP

3. Exercise moderately.
You don't really have to follow a prescribed plan, just exercise until it makes you feel better. You can tell the difference in how you feel, and you will know how much exercise it takes to work for you.

4. Reduce stress -
This is a BIG one. Stress is one of the leading causes of high blood pressure. Reduce stress by meditation, deep breathing, and getting plenty of sleep. If you can eliminate the source of your stress, doing so is a good idea.
Take a weekly destress bath, have some esential oil synergies at hand to destress, play with the kids, do a jigsaw!

These are just a sampling of steps to take when lowering blood pressure naturally.
There are hundreds of other things you can do, and when combined these actions will lower your readings dramatically in short time.

Collagen to reverse Arthritis, heart Disease - Glucosamine Chondroitin alternative

I am taking Collagen type II on a regular basis.

Pain in my knees used to be unbearable, but after starting on that specific Collagen, there has been a pain reduction about 40-50%, putting it in the bearable range. I use other pain alternatives, in previous posts - this post is about my research on Collagen type 2, still in the "to be tested further league of nutritional medicine supplements"
I find it completely invaluable

This is excerpted from
http://www.springboard4health.com/books_online/collagen/collagen_typeII.html

According to the latest statistics, 50 million Americans suffer from some form of arthritis, common symptoms of severe pain, loss of range of motion, and a diminished quality of life.

The author of "Jaws for Life, the Story of Shark Cartilage." writes:

When people suffer from arthritis, there is a selective destruction of collagen type II in the joint cartilage itself. Scientists know that this particular component of cartilage is being attacked by white blood cells and somehow this activates the immune system in the rheumatoid arthritic patient to develop antibodies to collagen type II. This then sets up an immune response to all of the cartilage that is degenerating in the body. Thus, both wrists hurt, both knees hurt, the hips, the back, etc. In osteoarthritis, we have a wear and tear type of destruction of the cartilage with the release of soluble collagen type II, but without the immune response

There are 14 different kinds of collagen , but the primary collagen, the most predominant one, the most medicinal collagen, is collagen type II. If derived from chicken cartilage, it has greatest number of anti-inflammatory and joint supporting proteoglycans, include glucosamine sulfate which has over 30 years of studies indicating it actually helps rebuild cartilage in arthritis joints.
It also contains a high concentration of chondroitin sulfate A, which is a powerful anti-inflammatory and also supports the joint tissue. These two components are in highest concentration in chickens compared to any other cartilage source.
In addition, collagen type II also contains a powerful, newly discovered antioxidant proteoglycan called cartilage matrix glycoprotein (CMGP), which can help reduce the oxidative damage to the joint. In addition to these new discoveries, there are other ingredients in collagen type II that make it more effective than just taking glucosamine or chondroitin by themselves.

Another advantage of collagen type II over cartilage is that it is much more absorbable, Researchers demonstrated about 8% absorption of ground cartilage, whereas the components of collagen type II are at 70 to 90 percent.
This means considerably less collagen type II has to be taken in comparison to cartilage. Most people have to take 9 to 12 grams of cartilage in order to get a response, whereas with collagen type II as little as two grams, and more commonly three to four grams, are quite sufficient.

When a person who has arthritis begins to take collagen type II, they should wait of a period of four to eight weeks before they make a decision as to whether or not the product is working. It takes this length of time in most people to get significant results. I have seen some individuals eliminate pain within one week, but this is the exception, not the rule. Collagen type II is available in 500 mg. capsules. It should be taken in divided doses throughout the day - 20 minutes before eating, preferably with a small amount of orange juice as this improves absorption. In lieu of the fact that there are no side effects with collagen type II, this would seem to be the product of choice when suffering from any form of arthritic condition.

Living without Aleve Check List

Tired of reaching for aleve & irritating stomach? Heres some info.
Its Morning, as I wake up to creaky joints- a little faster now,  and I shuffle to get some water & take my supplements
1 Collagen type 2 capsule
1 horsetail grass capsule
1 tsp Turmeric in half glass of water
2 tbsp Apple Cider Vinegar, Breyers

I started with the Collagen type 2 -  on my first brush with the symptoms, and know thats going to build up the collagen type 2 which deteriorates in the cartilage and possibly build up synovial fluid.
Relief to pain, about 40%, say, in about 1 hour.

Before I got the collagen, Ibuprofen/aleve was a staple- the first thing, I reached out for in the morning so I could get some mobility into me. With collagen 2, I'd take them about couple times a week
Horsetail is kinda optional , but it has silica, and I'm thinking it'll do good in the long run, by building up the connective tissue
Turmeric, its a new one I researched on, increases metabolism among its benefits, more here
Relief to pain goes up by 70% or more when I take it, in about half hour. Inflammation went down noticeably, which didnt happen to that extent with just collagen. When I ran out of collagen, I was ok with Turmeric twice daily for a few days.
Why ACV? too many people say its good for too many things, so I've started on it over the last few days. It gives me a "feel-good" feeling, and a better metabolism.

Evenings also get me creaky and I repeat the Turmeric/Collagen/ACV

Other things that have helped me include:

Stay Warm at all times, slip on an extra jacket or shirt

Socks at all times, not just when cold, and definitely to sleep in. There is a marked increase in pain the nights my socks slip off or I forget to wear them. Not just for the cold nights.

Wearing Rubber gloves when cleaning up. Hands become very very cold when exposed to water, and pain begins soon after.

Late evening, workout with light weights, using weights increases bone density & muscle mass which puts less stress on the joints I'm saving up for later.

I also use our own Pain Relief serum with Plai, to reduce muscle and joint soreness. While there hasnt been much research on Plai in the western hemisphere, this Thai oil, related to Ginger, is supposedly one of the main components in traditional Thai massage.
Among the 30-odd essential oils I have used for pain, this is the best of of them, giving quick & sustained relief to join/muscle combo pains like a crick in the neck, catch in the back, & those other little oddities that dont go away or are recurring. The quality of life, especially since ridden with arthritis, improves substantially on the days I use it. A little about plai

What I like best, is that while it gives relief to pain, I found it most helpful on the days I up or change my workout. I put it on at night, relieved that the extra joint pain/inflammation that would normally come in the morning would diminish substantially.
