How to unblock Sinuses with Turmeric.Natural Effective Immediate Remedy from Ayurved.

Ayurved ingredients
For years I warred against day-time Sinus and night-time Sinus medication with lots of Natural Remedies, Essential Oils instead of quietly succumbing. Always lost.
Living in Texas meant checking pollen content, weather conditions. December through March were ordeals to dread coz of the possibility of blocked Sinuses, accompanying migraines until movement merely became a form of pain.
Tried all kinds of essential oils, with mild relief, but great efforts- Frankincense, Myrtle, Ravensara and a dozen others known to help with decongesting colds.
But Success came.
When I got back to India, good ol' Ayurved (about 5000 yrs!)  lent a hand : the simplest of ingredients found in every spicy Indian kitchen. TURMERIC!

This is it. The magic yellow spice known to have anti-carcinogenic properties now gives Sinus Relief. Elsewhere I have posts to use Turmeric to aid Arthritis pain management, and Increasing Metabolism.

How to unblock Sinuses with Turmeric.

#1. Eat 2-3 tablespoons of warm/hot rice with appx 2 tsp of turmeric spice inside the rice.
For sheer effectiveness this is #1 on the list. the taste may take a little getting used to. It is quickly done. Make sure rice is warm so that the essential oil within the spice is released. start with eating 1/2 tsp of turmeric if you can't manage more. Unblocks & keeps sinuses clear for hours.

#2. Steam inhalation with 2-3 pinches of turmeric.
Keep inhaling every couple minutes. Do this for 5-10 minutes. I prefer to do this at night which will help to give a clear head aiding sleep. Also when sinuses have been blocked for a few days.

#3. 1/2 tsp of Turmeric in glass of warm water.
My preference is to do this first thing in the morning.

#4 A ball of hot rice and turmeric, wrapped in cloth and applied over forehead, cheek and throat.

#5 Using essential oil of Turmeric in a blend and rubbed on neck and forehead.
A little too strong. I would prefer the above 3 over using this. Not as effective, as it is the moist heat that is the biggest aid.

#6 Drinking a cup of warm milk with a pinch of turmeric and black pepper.
A children's remedy, mild, but has a nice feel-good factor to it.

Ok! Share your own natural remedies for Sinus if you have some.
